Stand Up for Families - November 14, 2009
The 16th Annual Stand Up for Families will be held on Saturday November 14, 2009 at The Fountains in Carmel. The event, which is Family Service's largest fundraiser of the year, features cocktails, dinner, silent auction and stand-up comedy by Costaki Economopulous and Chick McGee,a long-time member of The Bob & Tom Show. Chick and Costaki will be joined by hosts Cheryl Parker, Co-Anchor, Fox 59, and Joe Staysniak, former Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman and The Voice of Sports Radio, WIBC.

Economopulous is a regular guest on the The Bob & Tom Show, most notably with his weekly broadcasts of a spot dubbed "The Economonologue". A talented comedic writer, Costaki's jokes have appeared on The Tonight Show, The Best Damn Sports Show Period and The Late Late Show. In addition to his comedy, Economopulous is also known for being the long time beau of fellow comic and former hostess of The Biggest Loser, Caroline Rhea.

Family Service awarded $95,000 by The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
Family Service of Central Indiana, the area's oldest not-for-profit social service agency, received $95,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The funds from this grant will support the Moving Forward project to provide counseling, education, coaching and support to families caught in crisis of domestic violence or child abuse.

"Family Service cannot thank the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust enough for their generous contribution to the Moving Forward Project," said Family Service President, Edie Olson. "This gift will ensure that Family Service can provide valuable resources for women and children escaping abuse."Read more...

Family Service to appear on weekly segment during 6 News Good Morning Indiana
Family Service is part of a new segment on 6 News Good Morning Indiana that highlights family related issues. Each Wednesday, Family Service President Edie Olson talks with anchors Dan and Grace about issues submitted by viewers.

Video clips of the segments will also be broadcast on 6 News GMI on Facebook, and can be seen by visiting Family Service on Facebook.
