Family Preservation

Strong families can foster healthy and successful children.  Yet It’s not always easy to make a happy home when families are faced with complex issues.  When children have been removed from the home or are in danger of being removed, parents receive counseling and education to restore family stability.

Our counselors can help families:

  • Cope with their family’s difficult situation
  • Learn anger management skills
  • Set family goals
  • Improve communication skills
  • Develop better interactions with their children
  • Explore safe housing options
  • Learn about and access community resources
We also offer counseling, support and education services for when a relative has taken over care of children.  We provide help and support to cope with special challenges such as finances, mixed emotions and confusion from children, plus the stress associated with parental visits.

Getting Started

To get started, call us at 317-634-6341. Our intake counselor will answer any questions you have about therapy. If you are interested in getting started, you will be asked a few brief questions, and will be able to make an initial appointment with a therapist to discuss your concerns.

What to expect

You and your therapist will develop an individual treatment plan which will include your goals for making changes. You may discuss both your past and current experiences to better understand your present circumstances. Your therapist will support and encourage your strengths as well as help you find alternatives for dealing with your difficult issues.

Appointment Times

Counseling is available at any of our four central Indiana locations, and we offer both daytime and evening appointments. Some people meet with their therapist weekly or more often, determined by the severity of the situation.

Fees

Our not-for-profit agency is committed to making services flexible, affordable and helpful to participants, so that individuals can move forward with their lives.  Fees are based on each family's unique circumstances to pay.  Medicaid and other insurance plans are accepted.

Childcare is available for infants and toddlers at some locations.
