Chemical Dependency Program

Chemical dependency affects the entire family.  With caring hearts, our team of professionals works to help participants understand the destructive impact on their spouse, partners, children, and co-workers.  Participants will learn how to overcome addiction and live substance free.

At Family Service we provide a full continuum of substance abuse treatment and support services from prevention for individuals experiencing the first signs of a substance problem, through intensive outpatient programs for those experiencing substance abuse or dependence problems.

Childcare is available for infants and toddlers at some locations.

Education & Prevention
We offer classroom style learning programs both appropriate for those encountering their first legal or community problems related to chemical dependency. Education services include current and research-based information on the medical, physical, social and psychological effects of drug and alcohol use.

Outpatient Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Treatment
We offer both an Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Treatment option that is provided through group, individual, family or couple's therapy sessions. All therapy is provided by Certified Addictions Counselors. Service recommendations are based on client need and goals and may include one or a combination of available therapy services. Participants attend group meetings one to three times a week, determined by the severity of the dependency.

Relapse Prevention
After our Outpatient Treatment Program, our counselors will determine if participants should attend follow-up sessions.

Women's Trauma and Chemical Dependency
Trauma and substance abuse are often connected in women. Many women entering addiction treatment have experienced traumatic events like sexual and/or physical abuse. They may also stop treatment because the trauma is not being addressed and substances have served to lessen the pain of past events.

To ensure clients are receiving the support they need, the staff at Family Service is pulling from our decades of experience treating both trauma and chemical dependence to create a unique program that addresses both problems. Click here to learn more...

Getting Started

To get started, call us at 317-634-6341. Our intake counselor will answer any questions you have about therapy. If you are interested in getting started, you will be asked a few brief questions, and will be able to make an initial appointment with a therapist to discuss your concerns.

What to expect

You and your therapist will develop an individual treatment plan which will include your goals for making changes. You may discuss both your past and current experiences to better understand your present circumstances. Your therapist will support and encourage your strengths as well as help you find alternatives for dealing with your difficult issues.

Appointment Times

We offer both daytime and evening appointments. Some people meet with their therapist weekly or more often, determined by the severity of the situation.

Fees

Our not-for-profit agency is committed to making services flexible, affordable and helpful to participants, so that individuals can move forward with their lives.  Fees are based on each family's unique circumstances to pay.  Medicaid and other insurance plans are accepted.
