INDIANAPOLIS – More than 50 families are expected to join the University of Indianapolis and Family Service of Central Indiana for a Family Fun Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2. The free event, which will be held at UIndy Hall in the university’s Schwitzer Student Center, 1400 E. Hanna Ave., will feature music, games, prizes, food and a chance to meet costumed mascot Indy the Greyhound. The guests are clients of Family Service of Central Indiana, a not-for-profit social service agency which assists local families in need. Family Fun Night is a service project for UIndy’s Department of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. More than 40 university volunteers will work at the event, and others have donated prizes and baked goods and gathered donations from local businesses. PFS Inc., the university’s food service provider, also is donating food for the evening. UIndy has a longstanding relationship with Family Service, through which many social work students have conducted their required fieldwork.
