Encouraging Words One way Family Service is celebrating its 175th anniversary is by inviting you to share your words of encouragement to an individual or family in our programs going through a difficult time. Also, if you are looking for some encouragement or a message of hope in your own life, please feel free to browse through the submissions below for some positive messages.
We are asking our friends and supporters to submit words of appreciation and encouragement that may be enough to provide hope to someone that today will be better than yesterday. The inspiration may come from your own life experience - struggles of loss, single parents, depression, divorce, abandonment, abuse, substance abuse. What carried you through those challenges? What words of wisdom and hope do you have for families in our community during tough times?
It is simple. Just send your Encouraging Words by using the below comment form and we'll make sure your words get to those who are in our programs. Note, If you would like to submit your encouraging words through email instead of our comment form, please email your encouraging words to

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
I felt betrayed, hurt, like I was of no kind of use
Then I turned back, turned around to my first love
And with open arms he accepted me, just the way I was
To the world I was trash, nothing of value or treasure
But to God, I was a precious jewel, beyond the class of any kind of measure
I was a slave to my own mind
Because HIS peace I couldn't find
I was tossed like a ship on the ocean waves
Till he reached down and in him I was saved
I can stand tall and love my flaws
CAUSE I'M FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE, FLAWS AND ALL
I have self love, no longer TRASH but turned into TREASURE
I'm walking in favor and it is beyond human measure
NO SATAN, NO victory here
I stand on the promises of God and have no REASON to fear
Greater is he that dwells within me
He is all I EVER need
Looking to God I can say
Come into this place.
There are healing waters here
and hands with soothing balm
to ease your troubled days.
Bring your wounds and aching hearts,
your scars too numb to feel.
Your questions and complaints
are all welcome here.
Rest awhile.
Let the warmth of this community
surround you,
hold you,
heal you.
When you feel stronger,
just a bit,
notice those who need you too.
They are here.
They are everywhere.
Weep with them.
Smile with them.
Work with them.
Laugh along the way.
Pass the cup.
Drink the holy fire.
Take it with you
into the world.
We are saved
and we save each other
again, again,
and yet again,
